Weeks Activities-Oct 9-13

This week is our Star Lab week so all middle and high school students have the opportunity to be in Star Lab both Tuesday and Thursday during their normal science times. Tuesday we talked about how science actually proves that God created the stars and that they could not have evolved on their own. We also talked about how many different gospel stories can be seen and remembered by the stars. We also started recalling some of the different constellations that can be seen. The 8th graders also had the chance to tell stories of the stars to all the elementary grades.
6th-Beginning a Phototropism (plants reacting to light) lab today and a germination lab on Friday. The students continue to watch their Wisconsin Fast Plants grow taller and grow longer and wider seed pods! Also this THURSDAY they have an interdependent project due. Basically this is a project looking at different animals and plants that have interdependent relationships.
7th-We are finishing up with water systems and wetlands this week.
8th-We are learning about wastewater treatment in preparation for our field trip next Thursday to the Hamburg Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Biology-We have moved into a chemistry/mixtures/solutions chapter. Time for some review and plenty of new information as well!
World Geography-We have begun a unit on the United States and Canada.
