Spirit Week!

Hello everyone! It is spirit week this week and that means lots of fun! Don't forget tomorrow is crazy hat and hair day and friday is school spirit day-wear your school colors!

Class Summaries:

7th: We are finishing up a study on volcanoes and will be doing a 'film canister' volcano lab Thursday of this week. We will have another quiz on the parts of the volcano on Friday and then Tuesday of next week we will have a chapter test on volcanoes. Wednesday is our review day for finals.

6th-We are still working on Magnets and Motors! TOday we will build a compass and we will have a quiz on magnets on Monday of next week. The final for this class was already 'taken'. It was their one minute timers. They will still have a test on finals day but it will count as a regular test grade for this quarter.

8th-We are finishing up human body systems. Today we start watching a movie on how virus and bacteria can do more than make us sick. We will see how some people want to use these types of things to harm others. What can we do about it? Should we be allowed to test with such dangerous substances? We will have a test on immunity and disease on Monday of next week. Review is on Wednesday for the final.

Biology-We are going through a project right now on genetic disorders. We have spent two days in the lab researching 8 different disorders. Each student then picked one to focus on for their project. Powerpoint is encouraged but posters will be allowed for the project as well. We will have a test on Tuesday over meiosis and genetics. Review for the final will be held on Wednesday.

Geography: We are finishing up on Europe and moving into Russia after finals. Students just finished presenting sections and they did a pretty good job. They were each responsible for making notes, an activity and a quiz over their information. We will continue now until finals with issues surrounding the European nations. Review for the final will be Wednesday and a chapter test will be held on Tuesday.
